Vick takes a licking and well you know the rest

Michael Vick is back in the NFL. All I can say is it's about time. I know there are people who are upset and furious and to them I say hush. Yes, I know all about what Vick did and everything and I am a dog lover but Vick did his time. Vick did 2 years in prison lost everything he ever had and there are people who feel he should not go back into the NFL. They feel Vick should be working like regular people and never get a second chance. Now everybody has done something that they wish they had a second chance. Now not everyone was cruel to animals. Maybe you cheated, maybe you stole, maybe you did drugs, killed someone, etc. I bet you wished you had a second chance and what if someone said no, you are done get out. You would feel that was unfair and would try everything to get your life back together. Michael Vick deserves nothing less and to those still harping on the dog crime you need to get your act together. Everybody that is on, a dare I say it, a crusade against Vick are just bandwagon folk and do not read anything else going on.

Allow me to introduce you to a player you may have heard of or not or dismissed it, Dante Stallworth. Who is he, well he is a football player for the Cleveland Browns. He has been bounced around teams so a little under the radar. Well on March 14th, of 2009 Stallworth struck and killed a man. Stallworth was legally drunk when police arrived. He also served 24 of a 30 day sentence. The commissioner of the NFL suspended him for one year and will be reinstated after the Super Bowl of this year. Stallworth really only did 24 days but the NFL made him stay out for a year. So I ask you this which is the worse crime. According to everyone its the dog because nobody is outrage about Stallworth killing a human being.

I think everyone is upset at Vick one because he is a high profile athlete and Stallworth was not as in the spotlight. My other theory is the fact that people feel sorry for the dog than the human because dogs can't speak or express so they need human to take care of them. I hope that is what it is. I am still really upset at people thinking he does not deserve anything because he only gets 1 chance and that's it. Now I am not saying I condoned anything Vick did but I feel he deserve another chance like everyone else in the world. Before you go judging Vick and his crimes look back on your life and he without sin well you know the rest.

Michael Jackson

Okay I can finally get around to writing about Michael Jackson. I knew this was gong to be long and most time was just being lazy. Michael Jackson departed this world on June 25, 2009 and it was a shocked when I heard about it. I was actually on my way to the Thunder draft party and received a text about it or my wife told me before can't remember my mind will work out the details later. So at the time I hate to say was too excited about the draft, because it was my first one, to really let the news hit me. I originally wanted to post right after the funeral so I could comment on everything and has you can see I did but just a little late.

I enjoyed Michael Jackson I thought he was a great performer and loved his music, the only movie I liked him in was The Wiz. Moonwalker was okay and we won't even get into Caption EO. I think I might have gone to a concert when I was small enough not to remember but unsure but the world will miss him. Michael to me was not afraid to make music that gave hope, challenged the way you thought.

Now I would like to address such craziness as the whole wanting to be white idea. I heard this too much and be I thought why would one man keep up with the lie for so long so much pain dealt with that. Just doesn't seem right especially for a man that sang Liberian Girl. For a man that had black people as kings and queens in Remember the time. For a man that sang They don't care about us. For a man that gave to the United Negro College Fund over 20 million. Yes, Michael Jackson truly wanted to be white, give me a break. But everybody said Thriller was great I grew up with the album, so I have no idea what to compare it with. If you asked me based on song value which album I will grab first and jam it is Off the Wall. Everybody is like Thriller but Off the Wall is so underrated. That album has everything and is my favorite. And let me explain I did not hear off the wall until like my 20s. I heard some songs buy never the album and that album rocks. Now I am not saying Thriller is horrible or perhaps it might be the fact that the only Michael Jackson record I played forever and after years of only hearing thriller maybe a little worn out. But I paused to write to look over the Track listing to see if I was correct and most of the songs on that album were awesome, so maybe I might be wrong.

I did watch the memorial and it was touching, i did not get the see the entire thing due to my schedule but enough to really say not miss much. I also had the misery of after it was over to flip through the channels and saw Bill O'Reilly talking mess about Michael. He says he should have a memorial because of what went down with the kids and that we are praising a evil person. The segment upset me that it will forever ruin my original feeling I had for the memorial. Now about these allegations. When they first came out I was shocked and unsure but Michael was not charged and I was happy. When it happened again I was like "Really". I was thinking maybe it was true but when not charged was skeptical but figured it was good. Then every body always wants to ask the question would you let Michael watch your kids and most people respond "NO!" I would respond NO to, not because its Michael and what he was charged with but because I do not know this man. I have no idea what he does in his spare time, I do not hang around him 24/7. Michael might like to blast some NWA and I may not want my kids exposed to that. Parents are going to be cautious about who they allow to watch their children and if they do not know anybody, they will not trust them and that is what it is. I don't know Michael so not trust.

This reader will miss Michael and will especially miss the opportunity to introduce his children to Michael. I mean i can still do that but they won't be able to hear him live or see him or anything. We will miss you Michael Jackson.

Crazy commericals part 2 I guess

Its time again for crazy/stupid commercials that do not make any sense
1st on up is an Alltel commercial. Now the commercial is okay except at the end where they guys ask what if you don't have any pockets. If you notice his phone is in his shirt. What does the all powerful Alltel guy suggest a headset. WHAT!! A HEADSET. Lets explain a headset. A headset is only an extension of the phone it does not have any phone features except hang up and answer. So giving him a headset means he still needs to find a place to hold his phone. What kind of idiot is chad?

The next one is A KFC commercial
I think it speaks for itself

There is another chicken commercial where they talk about their recipes or something but I can not locate. I might have to add it later on then.

Okay here is a commercial that I am going to bash and complain until you hate it.

Alright lets work our way backwards. We know the lady's name is Sister Mary. That all I am going with and that is all you need to know. Now lets break down the stupidity of this commercial.

1. Why would you introduce yourself to a man who has never met you and I quote "The father of one of my kids". I know if I had some wild times and so women said that I would have said the same thing as well. Now how Minute Maid drink lets his crazy mind make the jump from crazy Cancun to his daughter and school is amazing. I guess its the ingredients in the product. It found out that it is "blended with 50mg of Omega-3/DHA per 8 fl oz. serving and four other nutrients to help nourish your brain and body." I guess its those four other nutrients that help make the connection between crazy party night and teacher. They could package that and said Minute Maid juice to help you remember about that girl during those crazy wild nights.

I have another one but I can not locate the commercial so I will tell you about. It is COX cable commercial. The commercial starts with a women talking about her son or daughter or family member having some kind of problem. Then states how COX gives them time to take off and everything. Then trying to sell you on COX the problem is just because they offer great services for employees means COX great company to work for and a great company to get your cable service from. But I think everyone has heard many stories about companies offering not so good service but great benefits to keep their employees from leaving.

NBA Draft Day

I know I haven't wrote in a while but I have been lazy and didn't feel like putting down everything. I have more crazy commercials but need to locate them and of course MJ and critics but before that I want to talk about the NBA Draft.

I went to my first Draft party for the Thunder which is sad on my part. Which has nothing to do with the fact it was the Thunder, it was the fact I lived in Dallas for 18 years and after 12 years after that went to a draft party. I know sad right. Anyway it was fun I had a good time. I didn't stay for the entire draft but I did have a great time. Anyway I would talk about the Thunder picks except nothing bad to say about it. I love all their picks and think they added great additions to the team. Now the real reason for this post is because of my other love the Dallas Mavericks.

I love Dallas but sometimes I do not understand what is going on in their head. One decision that still bugs me is the trade that Dallas did with the Nets to get Jason Kidd. I love Kidd but I would never trade a young guard with great potential for him. All you get from Jason is leadership some points and managing the game. When they let Harris go they gave up youth, points and possible a franchise guard for the team. So when the draft came what needs did I think Dallas needed. Well they needed a Center because Dampier was never the answer. I would not even draft Dampier to play on a 5th grade team game. They also needed a guard because Kidd is too old and they gave up Harris. So I really wanted a big man because Dallas needs that presence since Dampier doesn't give it and every team is not afraid of going inside for Dallas. So as I was walking around the Dallas picked up Center B.J. Mullens from Ohio State. I was excited Dallas decided they needed a big man and couldn't deny it anymore. I was happy and then the Thunder drafted a guard which was cool and I went to grab some food.

I come home and re-check at the draft to see where other people went. Come to find out that Dallas and Thunder traded picks. So Dallas got a guard(sigh) and Thunder got a Center. I think the Thunder needed a center but not as bad as Dallas. So I have no clue why we have to go with another season with crappy Dampier. I am so glad I do not curse because otherwise this entire post would have a cuss word next to Dallas. I understand we need a guard but right now we have Kidd we can manage we can not manage giving up so many inside points because Dampier is horrible, he does not even qualify in the average or below average. I almost would rather have Bradley back instead of Dampier that is how bad Dampier is in my eyes.

kay I found out some more new so I need to add that as well. It looks like Dallas is looking at getting Gortat who is a backup center to go to the Mavs. Everyone talks about how good a player he is and what he would bring but I have yet to see anything or to be fair even hear his name during the season. He was on even on my list of center during fantasy basketball even when the season was done the stretch. The Mavs might be losing a horrible center for an eh center which in my eye is not much of an upgrade. I also heard they might be getting Shawn Marion aka "The Matrix". This trade would excite me if it was 10 years ago. Now Shawn is a shell of his former self and I think he would be better as coming off the bench if anything. Even then I do not know if he would hurt Dallas more than help

Well Dallas you have spoken I just hope you know what you are doing because right now you are looking ridiculous to me.

A Change is coming

So I have decided to make changes to this blog. Nothing really big well big for just me I guess. My blog was originally a place to store ideas to share with some and not some. That will not change as much but I have decided to go back to showing pictures of what I have taken and others people have taken. It seems I enjoy doing that. Though nobody reads but me I like to keep myself of change and what I was feeling. So I dunno when I will start since I need to find my old pics install a scanner and then get to work, but I will enjoy this step.

Beautiful

So as people I have enjoyed to watch anime and sometimes they have the most beautfiul songs. So I was watching an anime called Elfen Lied, and I suggest that everyone should check it out. The title song has a beautiful song called Elfen Lied. The title is literally German for "Elves' Song", or more properly translated "Song of the Elves", and takes its name from the poem Elfen lied and the German word lied, a classical-romantic poem or musical work.
Anyway the link is here
Elfen Lied them song Lilium.

But it is wonderful, you can almost hear the sadness in the song. So I thought I would brighten your day to hear something so wonderful.

The lyrics for the song are
Os justi meditabitur sapientiam
Et lingua eius loquetur iudicium
Beatus vir qui suffert tentationem
Quoniam cum probatus fuerit
accipiet coronam vitae
Kyrie, Ignis Divine, Eleison
O quam sancta, quam serena, quam benigna
Quam amoena
Oh Castitatis Lilium

O quam sancta, quam serena, quam benigna
Quam amoena
Oh Castitatis Lilium

The translated part:
The Mouth of Justice is meditating wisdom,
and his tongue is speaking of a sign.

A happy man who suffers temptation,
Since he is with approval, they recieve the crown of life.

Oh Lord, Fire by divine power, have mercy!

Oh, how holy! How serene!
How kind! How pleasant
Oh Lily of chasitity.

In case anybody wants the poem

und humpelt also tippe tapp
durch's Haselholz in's Tal hinab,
schlupft an der Mauer hin so dicht,
da sitzt der Glühwurm Licht an Licht.

Was sind das helle Fensterlein?
Da drin wird eine Hochzeit sein:
die Kleinen sitzen bei'm Mahle,
und treiben's in dem Saale.
Da guck' ich wohl ein wenig 'nein!«

Pfui, stößt den Kopf an harten Stein!
Elfe, gelt, du hast genug?
Gukuk!

Translation:

At night in the village the watchman cried "Elf!"
A very small elf was asleep in the wood -
just at eleven! -
And he thinks that the nightingale
must have called him by name from the valley,
or Silpelit might have sent for him. (Silpelit is a character's name from an opera of Mörike's, "Eduard auf dem Seil")

So the elf rubs his eyes,
comes out of his snail-shell house,
and is like a drunken man,
his nap was not finished;
and he hobbles down, tip tap,
through the hazel wood into the valley,
slips right up to the wall;
there sits the glow-worm, light on light.

"What are those bright windows?
There must be a wedding inside;
the little people are sitting at the feast,
and fooling around in the ballroom.
So I'll just take a peep in!"

Shame! he hits his head on hard stone!
Well, elf, had enough, have you?
Cuckoo! Cuckoo!
